10 Not-to-be-missed festivals and events in Kingston this summer
Homegrown Live Music Festival
Have a listen to Kingston’s local musical talent at this one-dayevent. A number of venues will participate, with each hosting multiple performers from just one genre of music—rock, jazz, folk, classical, etc. All
proceeds go to Kingston’s musical instrument lending library.
A unique obstacle race of at Fort Henry that can be conquered as an individual or in teams of four or more participants. The course covers five kilometres and has a number of obstacles—some of them historically themed—designed to test strength, agility and determination.
YGK Craft Beer Fest
Sample a variety of Ontario craft beer and local eats at Fort Henry. While the prime focus is epicurean in nature, live music will also be part of the event. This festival is considered the official after-party of Cannonball Crush, but all are welcome to join in the fun.
Doors Open Kingston
Get an intimate look at Kingston’s most unique and fascinating cultural sites. Various historical buildings, a number of museums and even a sustainably built home at Queen’s University are among the venues welcoming visitors on this day.
June 17th – 19th
Kingston Sportsman Expo
Outdoor enthusiasts, extreme sports fanatics and hunting aficionados will fit right in at this expo. Stop by for product demonstrations, free samples, a family tent building contest, a log splitting contest, and other activities fun for the whole family.
June 21st – 25th
Skeleton Park Arts Festival
An arts festival that takes place in and around McBurney Park. Sarah Harmer and many other musical talents will perform. An artisan fair, family games, and a community dance are also part of the fun.
Canada’s 150th Birthday
Don your best red and white apparel and help celebrate Canada’s biggest birthday ever! A parade downtown and family activities at Confederation Park are included in the festivities. Fireworks start at 10.
Shopping enthusiasts will love this annual sidewalk sale that takes place in the heart of downtown Kingston.
July 6th – 9th
Kingston Buskers Rendezvous
Acrobats, jugglers, fire-eaters, magicians, musicians and many more will showcase their talents at this street festival to awe, inspire and entertain you.
Taste of Kingston
Indulge in some of Kingston’s finest culinary creations at this annual food festival held at Confederation Basin Marina. Live entertainment is also provided.
